Beautiful February

Wow, what a good week. Thomas started with the new company this week. Despite the hours he worked, he really enjoyed it. They quickly discovered his talent and knowledge and have him moving up positions already. They are ready to move him onto a job they told him earlier, normally takes about 6 months. They have been really impressed with his teaching of the guys he works with and being able to stay on top of a job without the foreman's constant instruction. He shocked them the first day when they kept checking on him every couple of hours and all he had for them was another parts list he needed to keep working. Needless to say, they were pleasantly surprised!! We are very proud of him and he has been really happy this week too!!

The kids all had great Valentines parties. We spent Tuesday night making all their valentines from lots of my scrapbooking stuff. I have always hated buying store ones, they are so generic and cheesy, so we try to think of new crafty things to do each year. This year was less creative because we waited till the last minute to decide on things, but everyone was happy with the stamps, stickers and rub-ons to decorate with. And of course they all picked out a candy. The girls were thrilled when I surprised them with Valentines shirts. We love Old Navy and their $5 holiday shirts. Broc's preschool party was pretty low key, just trading things and watching a movie. They don't feed them there so he couldn't eat any of his candy till later. I took snacks into Chey's and K&K's classes. Then I hung out in K&K's class and played games with them. Thomas had talked about going to dinner but Cheyanne had a BB game so we all went there and cheered her on. She did good, as usual. Thomas brought me home a beautiful Orchid. It is gorgeous. I am not sure how to care for it, but I am trying to keep it alive as long as possible.

Chey had 2 BB games this week. She is getting better and better each week. She really got the hang of rebounds this week, and had a pretty good percentage of baskets after the rebound!

Thursday Broc got sick and was throwing up all evening, but luckily slept good through the night. By morning he seemed to be fine, though he hasn't had much of an appetite since then. He had a fever for a few days, but that was finally gone today. Then tonight Kassie came down with it. She threw up just once, but doesn't have a fever. So we will see what tomorrow brings.
I got to get out Thursday and play Bunco with some friends. It was great fun. Although we always stay out talking way to late. Everyone else could sleep in. Most of the ladies there don't have kids in school, and the other ones that did are in a different school district from us and they had a teacher in service the next day. (can you say run on sentence!!)

Thomas had to work late every night and Saturday. They kids and I decided we didn't want to stay home Saturday so we packed up the softball stuff and went to the park Saturday after lunch. We worked on catching and fielding ground balls. They are pretty good at batting, and they all got plenty of turns hitting too. We ended up playing for about 4 hours until Thomas got off work and met us there. Then we came home and started a bon fire. We burned a lot of extra wood we've had laying around and roasted hot dogs. It was a beautiful day and so warm we stayed out there warmed by the fire and talking for a couple hours. We got that fire going pretty big for awhile with all the wood I kept putting on. They kids love it when it is a BIG fire.
Well it has been a great week. We are looking forward to the next. The kids don't have school Monday so we are hoping to go down to Gardnerville and go swimming. Should be fun, they have been wanting to go all winter. Have a great week y'all!
