Heavenly

The end of last week Thomas and I took off for our first trip alone since our honeymoon. Sad huh? I hadn't really thought about it like but, it's true. We spent the weekend in a cabin in South Lake Tahoe near Heavenly Ski Resort.
The cabin was perfect. Cute and clean with a hot tub, what more could you want!! We got up there Friday afternoon and then went to Cabo Wabo Mexican Cantina for dinner. It was a resturant that Sammy Haggar opened in Harvey's Casino. Yummy!! On Saturday night we went on a dinner cruise on the MS Dixie II. The cruise and views were beautiful. The food was good and there was a live band that was pretty good so we danced a lot and had a wonderul night. Sunday we took the Heavenly gondola to the top. The views were great about half way up and then it was a total whiteout, but beautiful. It was about 15 degrees at the top and really snowing. We walked around for a while. Our plan was to eat lunch up there at this little resturant grill place, but it's all outside and it was way to cold to sit and enjoy some food. So we played in the snow and rode back down. Then we went to this resturant in Heavenly Village called Fire and Ice. It was one of those places we picked all our own food for the chef and he grilled it in front of us. It was really good and very entertaining too. Then we came home. I can't tell Laura & David how much we appreciate them taking care of the kids for us. And Shannon for taking them to softball Saturday morning. We have great friends and family and we are really thankful for their help!! Thomas and I had a wonderful trip and we promised each other we would make sure we do something like this every year. I really suggest it to those of you who haven't. It is a great reminder of why you fell in love with this person so many years ago.
