Kallie's Perfect Slide

Wow, it has been a while since I wrote anything. That tells you how busy we have been. And our internet service has been having issues!!
This will be all about Kallie. She has improved so much in Softball. She is really enjoying it and is trying so hard to keep up with the girls 3-4 years older who have played for 4-6 years. Coach Troy taught them how to slide. She focused on learning and practiced at home and at each practice. They try to teach them to slide everytime they come into home just to be safe and to get into the habit of sliding naturally. So at their first game she played well. She didn't get a hit but got on base because the catcher dropped the 3rd strike and she beat the throw to first. (fastpitch softball rules; if the catcher drops the 3rd strike the batter can make a run for first and if she isn't tagged or thrown out she is safe). So she got on base. She stole second, ran to third on a hit and turned for home. Coach told her to go so she ran as hard as she could with the throw coming in behind her. Coach was yelling slide, go down, anything to get her in under the tag. The catcher caught the ball, and to all of our amazment and excitement Kallie threw herself into the perfect slide and went right under the tag. She was safe. And to top it all off, Thomas got the perfect pictures of the whole thing. So here you go, enjoy!
