Kassie

Kassie is getting so excited for the 2nd grade field trip next week. They are going to the Snakes Alive exhibit in Reno. She is asking daily about the snakes and holding them and feeding them and what kinds and which ones are poisenous. Can't wait to write about that next week!!

She is loving softball and was really excited the other day after they ran their lap that she didn't finish last!! That is quite a feat for her, running has never been her strong point. But she is trying so hard to keep up with the older girls and she is doing much better. She is starting to hit a few balls in the games and the games are much less confusing than they were to begin with. She slid into home at her last game but didn't quite make it so she had to crawl the last few feet. Luckily the catcher missed the catch so Kassie was safe. But the slide was perfect form and looked great!! She was hit by a pitch in her last game too, right in the elbow. She was tough and got around the bases. Then it really started hurting. She couldn't straighten her arm and it hurt to move much. I thought for sure she had broken it or at least cracked somthing. But after some ice and a few more innings it seemed to be doing better. By the end of the game she was moving it around. It was purple and swollen, but not seriously hurt. We were so proud of the way she handled it. She really toughed it out and didn't miss a single inning! It is amazing how fast a 10 year old can throw a fast pitch. I have been so impressed by the level of play these little girls can do. Kassie is working hard and keeping up!!
