Ivey Reunion

This last weekend we had our Ivey Family Reunion. We helped my mom do all the food shopping on Wednesday. Then we drove to my parents and spent the next few days helping get things ready. We also spent another afternoon at a friends house playing in their pool.
The reunion started on Friday night. We all met at Wallace's and had a wonderful dinner and played some fun games.
On Saturday we met in the morning at Lake Wildwood. We had a great day at the lake, playing in the water, tubing and eating. Many of the family drove down to Roseville for a baptism in the afternoon. We all got back together that night at Wallace's. We had another great dinner and had a fabulous talent / karaoke show. The kids all participated and Broc was an amazing back up dancer for Ashley's rendition of Reba's "Strange."

My sisters and I sang a mean Moulin Rouge.
Sunday we all went to church in Nevada City Ward. Jeremy and Becca blessed baby Karlyn. It was so wonderful having so many family there with us.

We all met for lunch after church at my parents house. The kids played all day and eventually everyone said their goodbyes and headed home.

That left just my siblings and their families at the house. After a little down time we all decided to take a blackberry walk. Down the street from my parents house are lots of wild blackberries. The kids love picking, eating and taking lots home to eat later. We had a great walk. I walked Nait and Kennidi to the end of the road hoping they would go to sleep, but they didn't. It's amazing how the houses all look different, yet very much the same. I used to ride my bike up and down that road every summer, almost every day.

We had a wonderful family reunion weekend. But we wanted to be able to spend time with just my family too. All of my siblings were there, so we spent Monday up in Tahoe playing at the lake. It was so much fun just being there with our family. All the cousins were together and had a great time. It was a great day.

So now we are through with our traveling for the summer. The only plans we have to go somewhere is when Breanne goes into labor. We are hoping this happens before school starts. It would be much easier to get there fast to see our new niece/cousin if we didn't have to worry about school. So we will just have to wait and see. The final plans for the summer are, of course, Papa's car show in September. We always look forward to that trip.

It seems like this summer went so fast. We have done so much, yet I feel like I haven't accomplished anything I wanted to get done. At least it has been fun. The kids haven't complained about being bored and the pool has been a perfect addition to our activities. Just a few more weeks to enjoy our free time, then back to the grind!
