Swirl of September

That's what it seems like. This month is really flying by. We have been busy with school, trips, basketball, church, you name it! We spent Labor Day camping with David and Laura and family up at Meadow Lake. It was so wonderful and peaceful, I wish we could have stayed the whole week. Mom, Dad, Breanne, Blake, Kennidi and McKinlee came up to the lake to play with us on Monday. We had a wonderful weekend. The kids found and played with lots of frogs, lizards and snakes. The water was great, the food was exceptional and us four adults stayed up late playing hand and foot every night. Meadow is one of my favorite Sierra Mt. camping spots. Really far out of the way and so so beautiful.

The next week Chey had her first 7th grade basketball game. The Sundevils beat Fernly. Chey played almost the whole game and did excellent. She is the starting point guard, which was a surprise to her and me, because in all her years of playing city league ball, she has never played point guard. She is the second tallest on team, but she is a pretty impressive point guard too. We all loved watching her play.

Right after her first game, the kids and I took of for Nevada City. It was the Roamin' Angels Cruisin' the Pines Car show. It's my dad's show we help him with every year. Thomas had drove straight to my parents from camping the weekend before to do a lot of son-in-law honey do's. He had some time this week and knowing the kids and I were all coming the next week he spent the week there working. Everyone was happy to see daddy! The car show was great, as always and Thomas and the girls canned over 50 quarts of pears and plums. They did an excellent job and the kids are very anxious to open them.

We love watching the Hot Wheel Drag Races! We didn't with this year, maybe next. We'll never give up!!! We get better at picking the cars every year, hope we learned something.

This was one of my favorites this weekend!

The following week Chey had an eye appointment to get contacts. She got a really bad black and swollen eye from her glasses in practice that day too. It is definitely time to give up the glasses. Unfortunately they did have her prescription in stock so she has to wait till next monday to get them fitted. She was sad she has to play another game with glasses, but she'll live.

The little kids open house was this week also. And since I am this years Booster President I had a lot to do for that. The kids and Thomas were great helps. We sold lots of cookies and got a few families to join the booster club.

Chey's second game was tonight. She played another great game. They beat Silver Springs 36-12. Chey scored a lot and made several foul shots. Again she played most of the game. He pulled her out the last 5 minutes or so, because the score was so high. Sorry no pictures, my camera never got charged after the car show. Sorry! I was really bummed too.

After the game there was a little locker room drama. When the girls went in to change one of Chey's friends back and been gone through and her clothes were thrown all over the locker room. The girls who did it were still in there and they started threatening Chey and her friends if they said anything. A couple of Chey's friends ran out and at the same time the girl who's bag had been gone through, her mother walked in to see what was taking so long. Just so you know, this is a woman you DON'T mess with. She scares me sometimes and I'm her friend! Nor am I easily intimidated! Anyway, the bad girls ran and hid in the shower and while Chey's friend told her mom what happened the girls bolted out the door. She followed them and grabbed the closest teacher and pointed them all out. Several teachers brought the girls in and got the whole story from Chey and her friend. The principal was brought in and parents were called. They said punishments will come down tomorrow at school. Chey will have to go in and give her "statement." But, I just want to say how proud I was of her. She stood by her friend and stood toe to toe with the stupid bullies. These were 8th grade girls who were bigger but Chey did not back down. She didn't get scared or intimidated. I was so proud of her for sticking by her friend.

Well that's the little stuff that is keeping us busy. Nait came down with croup the last few days, so he and I, with my allergies have been hanging at home this week during the days. Everyone is still loving school and their teachers. Thomas is staying fairly busy. When we start to think the work is finishing up, more comes along. So I guess that is the best we can hope for until a permanent job comes along. It is a bit stressful, but so far things have worked out and we continue to have faith and continue paying our tithing. We have received countless blessings, so we have little to complain about. Our family is healthy, happy and we are so very blessed.
