The girls finished soccer this last weekend. Both teams finished undefeated. Both were best in their age group. They all had fun and are anxious to start the next sport. Chey will start basketball in January, Kallie and Kassie are unsure if they want to play yet. Kallie scored her first goal of the year in the last game. She was very excited to say the least!!
Thomas has been really busy getting a friends new pizza store built. They have been working late hours almost everynight. He wants to be able to open this Saturday for the Nevada Day parade. He will pass out free pizza coupons to get people into the store at the parade, if he can get it ready by then. Thomas was suppose to go to Idaho this week to help his brother, but because of the commitments here that weren't quite finished he decided to stay home and get them done this week.
A few weeks ago Broc had a preschool field trip to the Apple Basket. It is the only commercial apple orchard in Northern Nevada. One of Broc's classmates is a granddaughter to the owners. So we had an in. He and I had such a great time. All the trees were the minature variety so the kids could pick everything themselves. They let us buy as much as we wanted for much less than in the store, and they are also FDA approved organic!! They are very yummy. They had 4 different varieties and we got some o
f each. The girls like the Gala the best. Broc like the yellow delicious and Thomas like the Braeburn. We had a wonderful time. This last weekend, some friends of mine and I went to Sacramento for The Time Out for Women conference put on by Deseret Book. It was a fun day. My mom met us down there and we listened to some really good speakers. Hillary Weeks was the MC and she sang between each speaker. I have never really listened to her, but I was really impressed with her music. And she was a great MC. Very funny and whitty!! It was a nice quick getaway!! Thomas and the kids had a good day and a half without me. They had a softball game, and got to spend lots of time in the pizza store 'helping'!!! Then on Saturday, after soccer, Thomas had a great suprise for them. He took them up to Truckee to meet my sister who was bringing us a new puppy. She had called earlier in the week and told us about a puppy from a litter we had wanted a few months ago was brought back to the breeder because the new mom didn't realize how much work it was and she couldn't handle it at the time. So she brought the
puppy back and didn't ask for any money and gave him all the toys and the kennel she bought for him. Kristi called to see if we still wanted one and of course we said yes, especially since it was free now!! He is a 3 month old pure bred lab. His daddy is chocolate and mommy is black. He came out black. The kids named him Jet. He is a very big puppy and will easily out grow Duke. He is very calm and very smart. He is learning fast and sleeps well through the night. He is a very big cuddler and will snuggle up to anyone who lets him. He is adjusting to being outside on a chain for a little while until Thomas can get a fence up. Duke never has needed a fence. He just stays home, so we need to get something up this week so he doesn't have to stay on a chain when he is outside. It will be fun to have another dog around. Duke is tolerating him, but you can tell he gets annoyed too. But hopefully he will be able to teach him all the good traights he has.
Last Thursday Broc was climbing over the fence at Chey's soccer practice and his jeans got caught on the top of the fence which threw him forward and he landed on his face. I have told him every practice for 2 years to go around the fence, but he kept climbing over and he got a fat lip, bloody nose and scraped upper lip. He scrapped the inside of his upper lip pretty bad too. His nose bled forever and I thought maybe it was broken but it seems to be fine. He is still pretty scraped up, but back to running full speed. His jeans on the other hand a had a 8 inch long tear up the back. I guess that probably slowed his fall so that's good, but the jeans were ruined. Better than his face!!!!!
On Sunday the kids had their Primary Program in Sacrament Meeting. They did a great job saying their parts and singing the songs. Our kids had their parts memorized so they said them really well. Broc was a little hard to understand because he wanted to be so close to the microphone. Chey had to read a few parts for kids who didn't show up, so she did great with those. She also sang a song with the 8-11 year old girls, they sounded beautiful.
Well that is about all that is going on. We are all looking foward to this Friday. The girls don't have school thanks to Nevada Day. So we are going to take them to a pumpkin farm and corn maze. Then Saturday is our Ward Trunk or Treat party. Thomas had already taken the week off of real work so he has a little more flexibility this week too. We hope all is well for the everyone else. Take Care Love TTCKKB
