Back to School and then some...

Since it has been so long since I have posted anything I will try to make it relatively short. But it probably won't be.
School was suppose to start on Aug. 27, but due to the school not being quite ready, according to the state fire Marshall and county inspectors, it was delayed a week. This worked out great for us since we were planning a trip to Idaho the last week of August anyway.
We spent 2 days and nights at Thomas' moms house in Driggs. We were able to see and spend time with everyone that lived fairly close. We got to meet 2 new nieces we hadn't seen yet, that was great!! The kids had a wonderful time with their cousins, playing on 4 wheelers, rangers and with paint guns. Then we spent 2 days and night at my brother, Jeremy's in Idaho Falls. We had a wonderful time at their new home and playing with and loving our new nephew Tyler. We were able to be at their church for his blessing, while Thomas drove back to Driggs Sunday morning to be at his niece, Jailee's blessing. It was a very quick trip, full of people to see and things to do, but fun. We drove home Monday (Labor Day) and got home in time to get girls organized and ready for school the next day

The first day of school was a bit crazy. Only because the roads into the school aren't finished yet, so they had to make some temporary roads into the back parking lot, which isn't very big. And we have to share this space with the buses too!! So things were a bit hectic. We found every ones classes and the only teacher I didn't know was Kallie's, Mrs. Tanzi. She seems really fun and so far so good. Chey found quite a few friends in her class from her softball team, that was exciting. And her best friend, Sabrina, which we were all relieved when we learned they were together. Her teacher is Mrs. Peterson, the one I had talked to over the summer several times and hoped Chey would get her. She is a great teacher for learning responsibility and organization. Something Chey lost last year in her craziness of a class and a teacher. And Kassie's teacher is Mrs. Dugan. She was Chey's 1st grade teacher and loved her then too. And she loves help in the class and loves Broc to come too!! So that's that. School is underway and everyone seems to be doing really well. The girls did have one complaint. Because of the rush to finish the school in time, the playground was put on hold. So there isn't any playground equipment or any grass yet either. The playground should be in a the next month, but it looks like grass will have to wait until spring. They say recess is a little boring, but they have seemed to adjust.

Broc and I had his COW bus orientation on the 5th. So he is all signed up for that. He was excited to see lots of the friends we haven't seen much of during the summer. That won't start for a few more weeks because they have hired a new teacher. She seems wonderful, but they have to wait until all her background checks have cleared before she can start her class. Hopefully they will be able to start next week. Broc is also signed up for swimming again. I figured we might as well take advantage of this year and get him swimming even better. Several of his friends are in class with him. I am hoping to do laps during his class time. It would be good for me and the baby to loose some gravity for a little while.

Soccer has begun also. They have all been practicing for 2 weeks now. Thomas volunteered, or more like I volunteered Thomas to coach Broc's team. It has worked out good so far. This way we scheduled the practices the same time as the girls so we are at the field as little as possible during the week. The first games were this last weekend. The girls played well and had fun. Thomas said only half of his team showed up, which isn't unusual for the itty bitty kids. So the ones that played were pretty wore out.
Broc and I were at my parents for the weekend helping with Granpa's car show. Broc was a great helper and loved watching all the HOT RODS drive by us, all 800!! We always help my dad with the registration, so all the cars entering the show have to go through us. It is the perfect way to view a car show, because then you get to hear what they sound like too!! Broc had too many favorites to list. Although we both agreed the Lidster Dragon was one of the best. And Broc always says the 50's pick-ups are his favorites.

So now were back home and trying to get everyone back into a normal routine. But to start the week off messed up we had our ultrasound Monday morning, and of course everyone wanted to be there. The kids were excited to learn we are having a boy. Thomas was disappointed it was only 1 boy. But we are all happy the baby looked healthy and strong and growing perfect!

Things are slowly getting back to normal. So hopefully I will be able to post more often and more fun stuff. When I go so long in between I forget the cute and funny things the kids do everyday. Maybe next time...
