More Meets

Well Cheyanne has had 2 more meets. She is improving each time. I asked her to push herself and see how fast she could really be. She is always up for a challenge.
The Carson meet on the 19th was an eye opener. The course was only 1.8 miles, but there were several hills along the course. They were running against several bigger schools, a few who train in year round programs. There were kids there who run alot, and have been for a long time. She ran the course in 16.59. A great time for her, but there were lots of girls in front of her. She was a little disappointed, but at the same time realized a new challenge. It was a beautiful course, right along the Carson River.

The next week she ran in Fernly. This was a 2 mile course, with the same kids that ran in the first meet. The course was flat except for one BIG, steep hill. We were all impressed with her time at 16.48 minutes. She really stepped up. She came in 3rd, and was thrilled with her placement and time. I think she is really learning her pace and where to push and where to take it easy. I'm glad she is enjoying running also. Thomas made it to the school in time to see her cross the finish line.

We are very proud of her and her determination to improve. This week she runs in Yerington. Go CHEY!!
