Let start back where I left off. I can thank my wonderful ipod calendar for this, as there is NO way I could remember details from last week, let alone April.
We had a wonderful Spring Break. We spent most of the week at my parents in Nevada City. We took the kids to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Land. Nait was very cautious of most of the animals. Several scared him more than others, like the Zebra. Yep, don't ask why, but he wouldn't even walk past the Zebra area after seeing it walk. And it was over 100 feet away, he's weird, I know! But he loved watching the monkeys (whatever kind they were), swing around making horrible noises!
The rest of the week we relaxed during the days and had kids practices in the evenings. Except on Saturday. Our great friend Cory had a birthday that week. It was also Aces opening weekend, so knowing that Cory LOVES baseball, the 4 of us went to the Aces game. We had a blast. Fun game, Aces lost, but our section won Gelato with a double play in the top of the 9th inning. It was very exciting. We were freezing, our team was losing, half of the stadium was empty, but we stayed! So we enjoyed a wonderful cup of Gelato after the game. It was a great night!
The next week Broc started baseball games. Moving up to the bigger field with a pitching machine was a big change this year. But he did awesome. He plays mostly 1st base, catcher and short stop. He is one of a very few in the league that can throw a ball from 3rd or short stop to 1st base on target. He loves baseball and was super excited to get started again.
Chey had her County Championship meet that week. She placed 4th in hurdles. She was thrilled to place and broke her personal best time. She really started to enjoy track. It was all new to her this season, so she learned alot and is aloready talking about next year and how much better she will be. Also that week, our adult co-ed softball games started. We didn't get a team together last year, so we were all very happy to be playing again. It's a great time with many great friends! Kallie and Kassie had their first soccer game that Saturday. They played great. This is a big challenge for them. They really have to try harder at sports than Broc and Chey. But they do and they love it! Their coordination really improved through soccer and you could really see how hard they had been practicing.
The next week, of course there were practices, but most of the week was preparing for our trip to UT & ID. On to the next post...
